Jallanzo The Dub Wizard
JALLANZO (Omar Allonzo Johnson) is a musician, singer, songwriter, producer and audio
engineer born May, 1981. He hails from Old Breaton, Portmore, Jamaica.
In the studio and onstage, Jallanzo grew his reputation from winning a Tastees Talent contest as a youth to working with many of Jamaica’s finest artistes, including Xana Romeo, Azizzi Romeo, Luciano, The Mighty Diamonds, Earl Chinna Smith, and many more. In 2006, he joined the remarkable duo of Jubba and Stone and thereby extended the members of Dubtonic Kru. Dubtonic Kru recorded and toured throughout the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean, also opening for Max Romeo. Members of the band branched off into solo projects, and Jallanzo is now focussed on launching his Roots-Reggae live dub experience under the alias The Dub Wizard. The polished live dubbing of his productions was showcased at Kingston Dub Club in 2024, and he plays at venues, festivals and parties in the US and elsewhere. Jallanzo features artists such as Hempress Sativa and Jah9 as well as musicians in production and live performances.
Jallanzo defines Dub as “a strip down of multitrack recorded music with extra reverb, delay, phaser and more.” King Tubby, Lee scratch perry, Scientist, King Jammy and Mad professor are just a few highly influential dub musicians.
Jallanzo is also one of the founders of Jamaica Dub Fest, readying itself for a soft launch at Kingston Dub Club during Reggae Month 2025.
