Payday Music

BIOGRAPHY
Austin 'Kevin' Green better known as Kevin Payday is a respected Grammy Award-winning dancehall producer and studio engineer. Born in Red Hills, Kingston, Jamaica he started his illustrious career back in 1998 at his cousin, Buju Banton's Gargamel Studio.
As his network grew and the credits began to pile up Kevin made his move and ventured into the mainstream as an independent producer releasing his very first riddim, the F 150. It was time to test the waters again in 2001 when he released his next two riddim serials, the Vacuum and Hypnatic, featuring cuts from the likes of Sean Paul, Elephant Man and Bounty Killer.
His indomitable engineering prowess now recognised by Bounty Killer, led to Kevin spending 18 months engineering in then major Reggae distributor, Jet Star's Cave Studios in London. Here he would mix tracks for a veritable who's who of Reggae stars interrupted every so often by work for a rapper like Fat Joe.
Buju's studio had been refurbished and Kevin found himself back in Jamaica now working alongside Jermaine Reid at the revamped Gargamel Studio. The two would compose and mix two popular riddims in the 'Garrison' and '100 Watts', later released on Gargamel Records. Featured thereon were Dancehall heavyweights like Assassin, Sizzla, Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man and Spragga Benz.
In the summer of 2006 Kevin left Gargamel after producing two tracks ('Jig' & Nothing With'), for Buju's Grammy nominated 'Too Bad' album. Advised by Bounty Killer, Kevin went about building his own crew, to which end he discovered Lando, Marlon Binns, Boom Steppa, Mental, Martina, Carlos Turner and Bad Cash (his brethren for 9 years) whom he would now produce alongside the superstar DJ's like Mavado, Busy Signal, Macka Diamond and Vybz Kartel.
Bounty then introduced him to Sharon Burke of Solid Agency and the relationship was sealed. Kevin opened his own Studio on the Solid Complex which doubles as the headquarters for Bounty Killer's Alliance. Now the official engineer of the Alliance Crew, Kevin has embraced the digital age with one Riddim releases including the 'Not Out' , 'Merge', 'Billboard' and 'State of Urgency' as well as Bounty Killer's argument ending EP – 'Raising Hell On Hell Bwoy' EP. Always commited to helping up & coming artists his crew now boasts his own proteges Boom Steppa, Iyara and Flawless as well as members of the Alliance like Busy Signal, Bling Dawg and Wayne Marshall who all feature on Payday productions alongside Mavado's Gullyside crew and of course the assorted stars that pass through the studio daily.
In September 2011 whilst promoting his latest serial, 'The Bedroom Riddim' – an all ladies Dancehall project, he was awarded the Music Achivers Award for Best Producer. A month later, he took receipt of his first Grammy for the album, 'Before The Dawn'nafter three previous nominations for work he did whilst resident at Buju Banton's Studio.
